PRIVACY POLICY

1. WHO WE ARE

The Auburn is a trading name of Cinnamon Life Pty Ltd ("The Auburn", "we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information when you visit theauburn.com.au, buy from us, or contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Contact and order details: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and order history.

Account, subscription and loyalty details: account login details, subscription orders, and points and referral activity in The Alba Circle.

Business enquiries: company name, role and brief details when you enquire about trade, wholesale or corporate gifting.

Communications: messages you send us, product reviews and survey responses.

Website activity: pages and products viewed, cart and checkout activity, device and browser type, IP address and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not collect or store your full card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers.

3. HOW WE COLLECT IT

Directly from you, when you place an order, start a subscription, create an account, fill in a form or pop-up, subscribe to our emails, leave a review, or contact us by email or phone.

Automatically, through cookies, the Meta Pixel and similar technologies when you use our website.

From our service providers, for example when a payment provider confirms a payment or a delivery partner confirms a delivery.

4. HOW WE USE IT

To process, pack and deliver your orders and answer questions about them.

To manage your subscription orders and deliveries.

To run your account and The Alba Circle loyalty programme.

To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes for trade, wholesale and corporate gifting.

To send you news, offers and product information by email or SMS where you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

To ask for and publish product and store reviews.

To understand how our website is used and improve our products and services.

To show you relevant advertising on Facebook and Instagram and measure how well it works.

To prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

5. ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS

We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API on our website. These tools share information about your activity on our site (such as pages viewed, items added to cart and purchases) with Meta Platforms, Inc. When you place an order or sign in, we may also share your email address, phone number, name and location in a hashed form. Hashing converts the value into a fixed string that cannot be read directly, but it is not encryption and it does not make the information anonymous — Meta can still match a hashed value to an existing profile. Meta uses this information to measure our advertising and show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

You can control how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram settings under "Your activity off Meta technologies" and "Ad preferences". You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

We also use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and Google Merchant Center. These collect information about how you use our website — pages and products viewed, items added to cart, and purchases — so we can measure our advertising and show you relevant ads across Google services and partner websites. Google may set cookies and may process this information outside Australia.

You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.

6. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following, and only as needed for the purposes in this policy:

Shopify, which hosts our online store, checkout, forms and customer messaging.

Our payment providers, including PayPal.

Our delivery partners.

Klaviyo, which sends our emails and SMS messages and runs the sign-up and offer pop-ups on our website.

Appstle, which runs The Alba Circle loyalty programme and our subscriptions.

Judge.me and Google Reviews Rocket, which manage product and store reviews.

Meta Platforms, Inc., for advertising, measurement and our shops on Facebook and Instagram.

Google LLC, for website analytics, advertising and product listings, through Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center.

Online marketplaces, such as Amazon, when you buy from our store on that marketplace.

Our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers.

Government bodies and regulators where required by law.

7. OVERSEAS DISCLOSURE

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and countries in the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect your information to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. COOKIES

Our website uses:

Essential cookies that make the store, cart and checkout work.

Analytics cookies that show us which pages are used most, so we can improve the site.

Advertising cookies, including the Meta Pixel and Google advertising cookies, described in section 5.

Feature cookies used by our pop-ups, reviews and Instagram feed.

You can accept, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the cart, from working. Visitors from the European Union, European Economic Area and United Kingdom are shown a cookie banner and can accept or decline non-essential cookies.

9. MARKETING

We only send marketing emails and SMS messages where you have agreed to receive them. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us at admin@theauburn.com.au to be removed.

10. SECURITY

We use appropriate physical, electronic and managerial safeguards, including TLS encryption, access controls, passwords and anti-virus software, to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Personal information may be stored electronically and in hard copy.

11. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as required by law. For example, we keep order and tax records for at least five years. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

12. ACCESS AND CORRECTION

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@theauburn.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

13. CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA

If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you also have the right to ask us to delete your personal information, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. We use your information to fulfil our contract with you when you order, to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate business interests, and, for marketing and advertising cookies, with your consent.

14. AGE

Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Products containing alcohol may only be purchased by, and delivered to, people aged 18 or over.

15. EXTERNAL LINKS

Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we recommend reading their privacy policies.
